Room Air Conditioners Convenient and inexpensive models that can be used in a multitude of installations, room air conditioners can be installed on the window ledge of any room and connected to a standard 10-amp power outlet; hence no electrical wiring is required. Being portable, room air conditioners can be relocated to new locations within the home or taken with you when you move without fuss. A down side to room air conditioners is that they are somewhat noisier then more advanced systems as the motor is located directly behind the unit.
Split Systems Wall & Floor Split systems are made up of two parts: the compressor, which is located outdoors and the head, which is installed indoors. Internal noise is eliminated as the compressor is located outside the home. Versatility is provided through the wall mount or floor mount options. Split systems are available in cool only models or reverse cycle split systems, which provide heating and cooling functions and can supply efficient coverage to one or a number of chosen rooms. They range in power from 2kW to 8kW. For small to medium sized areas 2kW to 5kW systems are sufficient, whilst the 5kW to 8kW models will easily manage larger areas. Split systems can be wall or floor mounted, depending on the available space within the installation and both are easily operated by way of remote control.
Ducted Systems Fully ducted reverse cycle air conditioning systems allow complete climate controlled comfort throughout the home all year round, distributing cool or warm air via flexible ducting channels in the ceiling and dispersing air through vents located in several rooms throughout the home. Ducted systems are a more economical solution as they deliver better air filtration and greater energy efficiency, therefore saving on overall operational costs. What’s more, they can be programmed to operate in the living areas of the home by day and in the bedrooms at night, providing automatic climate control to each room for greater comfort.
Multi Systems Multi split systems can supply heating and cooling functions to several rooms using only one outdoor unit. They are best used in installations where there is limited outdoor space and restricted ceiling space to install ducting. A multi system allows the user more air management control over individual rooms thus saving money on overall operating costs.
Cassette Systems An alternative to the wall mounted split system indoor unit, the cassette sits flush with the ceiling and emits air in a 360ْ radius. Cassette systems are available in a variety of sizes and are suitable for open areas such as the lounge, dining and kitchen. This state-of-the-art technology is a smart solution for cooling and/ or cooling and heating, which allows flexible control, and easy installation to bring natural comfort and convenience to any environment.
Air Curtains Air Curtains act as an invisible door that delivers a stream of air across openings in order to prevent managed air from escaping the environment, resulting in a comfortable interior climate in areas that must keep their doors open for trade (retail outlets, corporate & government office, library’s, etc). They also prevent cold air from escaping from cold storage areas, allowing trouble-free access to staff, public and machinery whilst maintaining space conditions. In addition, air curtains act as an invisible barrier that effectively protects against other environmental pollutants such as wind gusts, fumes, dust, and insects from entering the area.
Inverter Technology A more recent innovation in air conditioning, inverter technology enables the outdoor compressor unit to operate at variable speeds depending on the output required, eliminating the start/ stop function found in standard systems, making it more economical and quieter to operate. Varying the compressor speed enables the air conditioning unit to reach its desired temperature more quickly, therefore handling greater temperature extremes and maintaining more comfortable heating/ cooling levels.
Commercial AC Units There are numerous commercial air conditioning options available in today’s market. Commercial sites are more often than not constructed to architects and builders specifications and installation is arranged by the successful builder. Another viable alternative is to engage suitably qualified and certified air conditioning contractors to assist with and advise on possible design requirements. In either situation, it is important to discuss specific plans and requirements with your chosen design consultant in the early planning stage. |
